On Monday, November 11, from 2:30 to 4, Lauren Clark, author of Union Park Press’ upcoming Crafty Bastards: Beer in New England from the Mayflower to Modern Day, will be moderating a Thirst Boston panel on the how local brewing has evolved over the past 400 years. Titled “A New World of Beer: Brewing in New England from the Pilgrims to the Present Day“, Lauren’s panel will discuss conflicting Puritan attitudes towards drinking, strange colonial era beers, Boston’s staggering number of industrial era breweries (over 30!), New England’s unique beer history , and how modern brewers are thriving in the area. Panel members include Mark Hellendrung of Narragansett Beer, Chris Lohring of Notch Brewing and Dann Paquette of Pretty Things Beer and Ale Project. This will be an exciting (and educational) event!
Thirst Boston is a gathering of bartenders, industry icons, and beverage connoisseurs from Boston and beyond. The organizers’ goal is to educate attendees on the science, craft, and taste of all things related to the art of drink and to celebrate local talent. Thirst Boston is a great place to see your favorite bartenders and baristas and find out how they do what they do.
Join Lauren for a pint and raise a glass to New England, the birthplace of American beer!
