baked fish with nasturtium butterIt’s no secret that Rhode Island—and New England’s South Coast—have become increasingly associated with delicious food and fresh, local ingredients. To celebrate this, head to the Eat Drink RI Festival in Providence this weekend! The festival, which runs from Friday, April 19th to Sunday, April 21st, will host Rhode Island’s best farmers, chefs, bartenders, and food & drink artisans. The festival’s events include taste panels, educational sessions, and the ever-popular Grand Tasting, which features local chef demonstrations and beverage tastings. Tickets are available by event, or you can purchase an all-inclusive ticket—though The Truck Stop, a food truck tasting, has already sold out, so be sure to get your tickets ASAP!

And here at Union Park Press, we’re celebrating the region in our own way: with the release of our forthcoming South Coast cookbook, The Coastal Table by Karen Covey. Covey, a personal chef, food writer, and recipe developer, captures seaside living in New England at its freshest and most innovative. With over 120 recipes that update and modernize traditional New England fare, The Coastal Table is filled with dishes for casual beach days, sophisticated outdoor entertaining, and simple, everyday meals that celebrate the epicurean heritage of this breathtaking coastal region. Keep your eye out for when this must-have hits shelves—trust us, you’ll want a copy!
