Stephanie Schorow, author of Drinking Boston: A History of the City and Its Spirits, will speak about the city’s long and illustrious relationship with alcohol at Bestseller’s Cafe in Medford on Thursday, December 13th at 7 p.m. We hear a rumor that a tasting might also be in the works…

Drinking Boston  introduces readers to the cast of characters who championed or vilified drinking and the places where they imbibed—legally and Drinking Boston examines the city’s complicated relationship with alcohol, dating back to Revolutionary taverns and pre-Prohibition saloons, and brings readers to today’s neighborhood barrooms and the current cocktail renaissance that’s sweeping the nation.
