Marketing, Publicity, and Communications Intern
We are looking for an intern to start immediately (and to potentially stay into the summer). An internship with Union Park Press will give you the opportunity to learn about the publishing industry from the point of view of a small, independent, local press. You will be able to participate in all aspects of bringing a book to market. Specifically, duties will include:
- Publicizing author events and Union Park Press news
- Marketing blasts for all books to local media and retailers
- Social networking through various platforms
- Market research for upcoming titles
- Sales calls to local bookstores, gift shops, etc.
- Administrative duties such as order fulfillment, data entry, and filing
We’re looking for people who are outgoing, conscientious, and hard-working. The ideal candidate is creative, takes initiative, and can execute tasks efficiently. A broad knowledge of Boston—its culture, history, and the local media scene—and an interest in the publishing industry are preferred. The internship is unpaid (college credit is possible) and will be for 10-12 hours a week.
Please send in your resume and a cover letter to intern@unionparkpress.com.
