Discovering the Boston Harbor Islands continues to be one of our most popular books—and given the positive feedback we’ve received about our Drinking Boston app, it only made sense to make a Boston Harbor Islands app, too!
The new app is meant to be a mobile guide to the Boston Harbor Islands, whether you are a ferry-riding day-tripper, a kayaking overnight camper, or a pleasure boat cruiser. The app offers fun facts, history, and logistics for getting to the islands, and will soon be home to fresh information about events, ideas for exploring, and fascinating stories about the islands.
If you are scanning the QR Code, here’s how to get the App saved to your phone. This is a lot simpler than it seems, we promise.
Here’s how it works:
- Using a QR code-scanning app on your smartphone, scan the code. (QR code- scanning apps can be downloaded for free via the iPhone App Store and Android Marketplace).
- You will now be able to see and use the app. If you want to download the app to your smartphone for future use, follow the directions according to the type of phone you have:
- For iPhones: Open the app in your browser (Safari). Here, you will have the option of hitting the arrow button on the bottom of your screen and selecting the option of “Add to Home Screen”, which will save the app to your smartphone.
- For Androids: With the app open, bookmark the URL. Then, in your list of bookmarks, use the shortcut to save the app to “home” – this will vary slightly across devices.
To learn more about the islands, order Discovering the Boston Harbor Islands through our website; online through Amazon or Barnes & Noble; or pick up a copy at your local bookstore. If your favorite shop doesn’t have it in stock, just ask—they’ll be happy to order it for you!
