How did a city founded by the Puritans, who rejected nearly all athletic pursuits, become the most sports-crazed in America? Christopher Klein, author of The Die-Hard Sports Fan’s Guide to Boston, will talk about the evolution of Boston’s legendary sports history and some of its great sporting characters including Benjamin Franklin, Francis Ouimet, John L. Sullivan and Babe Ruth. Chris will discuss some of the city’s past and present sporting venues, and offer trivia questions that will test the knowledge of even the most die-hard fan. Christopher Klein, author of The Die-Hard Sports Fan’s Guide to Boston: A Spectator’s Handbook, has attended sporting events around the globe, from Aussie Rules Football in Melbourne to sumo wrestling in Tokyo. His sports articles have been featured in The Boston Globe, ESPN.com, and New England Travel. He is also the author of Discovering the Boston Harbor Islands: A Guide to the City’s Hidden Shores.
