2012 South Shore In-Water Boat Show

With May just around the corner, we can only think of one thing: summer. Sure, we still have a ways to go, but that won’t stop us from spending a day by the sea and enjoying a bit of nautical entertainment this weekend at the South Shore In-Water Boat Show at the Hingham Shipyard Marina. Featuring 25 different kinds of boats, a shopping bazaar, and a lineup of luxury automobiles, there is something for everyone at this fun outdoor event. The In-Water Boat Show, which offers free admission and parking, will be held from 10 am to 5 pm this Saturday and Sunday, April 28th and 29th.

The boat show will also be a great day for family fun. Though many kids will simply be in awe of the different boats on display, they also won’t be able to resist face painting, balloon animals, and participating in a sea shanty singalong with a rowdy troop of Gloucester-based musicians, Three Sheets to the Wind. When stomachs start to growl, visitors can snack on food provided by the Go Fish! food truck and Paul Wahlberg’s restaurants, Wahlburgers and Alma Nove.

Boat enthusiasts, of course, won’t be disappointed. The marina will showcase more that 25 boat lines and will offer special discounts on slips. And unlike with traditional boat shows, prospective buyers will be able to sea-trial boats in the Boston Harbor.
